Eliminating External Factors: Before condemning a module, we thoroughly examine all external factors that could influence its operation.

This includes:

Power and Ground Integrity: We meticulously check all power and ground connections to the module, using wiring diagrams to ensure proper voltage and stable grounding.
CAN Bus Communication Analysis: We analyse the CAN (Controller Area Network) communication lines, which are crucial for modules to “talk” to each other and the rest of the vehicle. We look for active data flow to and from the module. If there’s no data, we investigate the communication lines first, as a lack of data will prevent the module from functioning, even if it’s otherwise healthy.
Bench Testing (When Applicable): For certain modules, we have the capability to remove them from the vehicle and test them independently on a workbench. This allows us to isolate the module from the vehicle’s complex system, providing a controlled environment for precise diagnosis. This independent testing helps us definitively determine if the module itself is faulty or if the issue lies elsewhere within the vehicle’s wiring or communication network.
